interests: language, first and foremost! I speak german and russian (my undergrad majors), and previously studied mandarin chinese (high school) and japanese (just this past semester), and I'm always interested in learning more to any extent that I can. consequently, I love both linguistics and literature. now that I'm out of two literature-heavy courseloads, I'm hoping to branch out and read more, and I'd appreciate any recommendations.

this fall, I'll be starting my one year intensive MAT program to become a german teacher! I'm super passionate about teaching and learning, and I can't wait.

in general, I passionately love cats more than I can adequately express. I love driving, watching films (trying to expand my experience here as well), taking walks, trying new foods and drinks, taking photos. sometimes I cosplay (though I can't sew) and I RP a little. I collect cloth shopping bags (really) and mugs. I may be working on getting a motorcycle license this summer. I'm extremely boring.

fandoms: my ultimate favorite things are Katekyo Hitman REBORN! (manga) and Fullmetal Alchemist (2003 anime primarily), because I just can't let go. beyond that, I've enjoyed InuYasha, Free! (still gotta finish s2), Tsuritama, Yowamushi Pedal (still catching up), Psycho Pass (gotta watch s2, there's a theme here), Yotsuba&!, etc. I'm interested in reading Haikyuu and giving Gangsta another shot sometime soon. also interested in catching up on past seasons of anime... if you have suggestions, let me know!

in non-animanga news, I watched season one of Hannibal recently, so that happened... also, I love Animal Crossing. sometimes I try to play other games, but I have trouble sticking with them. nevertheless, I love Silent Hill. also, I really like music— some favorites include Aesop Rock, the National, Modest Mouse, MCR (really), Gerard Way, Fall Out Boy, Pinback, etc., though I like a lot of other things as well.

... though, actually, I'm not in fandom outside of animanga, and even then, it's not much at all.

edit: somehow I always forget Harry Potter on here, but I fucking love Harry Potter, oh my god.

anything else?: the other day, I was linked to an article about how people were bullying Sanrio's Cinnamon on his official twitter account, and it's still fucking me up. why would you hurt Cinnamon?! what kind of absolute demon does that?!

SILENT HILL, aaaaahhh. for a long time, SH2 was the only video game I completed. it took me like four years and I used a walkthrough, though. admittedly, I still haven't finished SH4 (despite playing it for even longer than SH2), and I only just bought SH3, so I'm probably a little bit of a poser. but I love love love the concepts and imagery and music and ugh, just everything. do you have a favorite?

my favorite is 3! it was my first so i am biased for that reason but theres a lot of things about it i really love. i find it the most viscerally scary in comparison to the others and i loooove heather. also it feels like the.. loneliest sh to me. idk why. theres lots of imagery and themes i enjoy a lot too. and it has my fav ost.
